it and the obama campaign should expect this as well because that's what happens this time of year. in 2007 we were going six months at this stage, or six months into the campaign four years ago at this stage. we were focused on iowa. we believed we had to win iowa to have a shot at the nomination. if we lost, we would have some problems. there was a much more narrow path to the nomination. so everyone was really focused on the four early states, which included new hampshire, south carolina, new hampshire as well. things were really starting to happen in september. starting to see things come together after many months. tuneups for thel collaps race that's 12 weeks away. a car you have on labor day is the car you'll drive through the primary. so you are getting people into positions. it was late september when this poll dropped. it was the same one we had been seeing a couple months, but it showed hillary clinton ahead by 47% to 23% at. it was a cnn poll and she was winning by at least 20 points or maybe 25 points. apple dropped into headquarters like a grenade. there was something that happened in

around four years ago with the obama campaign, all the investigations showed that so many of his campaign donations, hundreds of millions could not be traced. they were untraceable. one of the reasons why is there was no and still on that website there is no verification firewall, so, if you go on any website and you want to buy something, usually you have to type in the writ card security number, that three number thing, there are all kinds of firewalls so they can trace you to the credit card, you as an american citizen, you can be traced to a u.s. address and obama campaign does not have that firewall in place. they got caught four years ago and they fixed it. this time, they ought to have known better, they ought to have known better and they still do not have it in place. here is the kick other, on that website for president obama, if you go on the site and buy campaign merchandise, a t-shirt or a cap, you have to type in all of that information so the firewall exists for all of the swag. >>eric: it is not an oversight, but they apply it to the purchases of campaign swag but not the

back to first year of the obama administration, from an unknown source, if you will, in an early meeting that the president had with jewish leaders, at the white house back in 2009, that the president wanted to spwant ed to put some daylight between the u.s. and israel. he didn't mention israel was thrown under the bus, but he didn't back off at all in his insistence that the u.s./israeli relationship, specifically relationship between the president and the prime minister, was under strain. i will point out this, he's right on that, the relationship between netanyahu and president obama is under strain. but the u.s./israeli military to military relationship, intelligence to intelligence relationship, at least according to ehud barak and shimon peres, i interviewed both of them in july, they insist the relationship has never been better. the personal relationship between these two leaders, though, is not good. >> that is what romney has pointed out. up until now, and perhaps largely because of the operation that killed osama bin laden, it has been advantage obama when it comes to

reaction from the obama administration to the uprising, if you will, in iran, a couple of years ago, when there were protests. people were angry and the u.s. was on the sidelines, the president did not directly speak out and the explanation that the administration at the time gave was that the opposition didn't want this to appear to be the opposition to the ayatollahs, standing up in iran, with the backing of united states. that could have been counterproductive. as a result, the obama administration was pretty silent. at the time now where romney is going after him on that, i think there were a few areas where there were some significant differences, but on the whole, after you get through some of the angry rhetoric, there is a lot of agreement between obama and romney, one area of disagreement on arming the syrian rebels. another area of disagreement, how far will iran be able to go in its nuclear weapons capability, the capability of developing a bomb as opposed to actually having a bomb. and the third was on russia. he twice in a speech singled out vladimir putin as a basically a foe

was the barack obama i've been listening to now for four years. he sounded very much like himself. i don't think he was terribly bad. i think he has a very weak case. i think that the circumstances in the country present the challenging candidate with all kinds of opportunities. mitt romney was on his game and he took advantage of those opportunities. the president is saddled with weak circumstances and therefore a weak case. it is not surprising to me didn't argue it very well. the other thing is, despite his reputation as being this world class orator, maybe he is with a set piece speech but there is not a lot of evidence in the past he was a great debater. we put those thing together, i don't think this was a big a shock as president's supporters on the left feel. he is not 10 feet tall and has never been. bill: candidates square off october 16th week and a half from now, long island, new york, at hofstra university. patti ann: the political winds may be shifting. governor romney enjoying quite a post-debate bounce. going past president obama in the rasmussen tracking poll. 49-to obama's 47.
